Most days you will find me toting around this bag or this one. I love them equally for different reasons whether it’s the leather, the size, or shape. One is much bigger, than the other but at the end of the day, I still bring along the same essentials for every day in both bags.
Remember this post? Yeah, not much has changed. 😉 The only main switch up is that a super sweet student got me this wallet last year and I have been using it ever since. I also use something somewhat similar to this to hold some make-up. (You can find my favorite make-up here). I like to keep encouraging notes from Eric or friends because I definitely need some encouragement from time to time. 🙂
Happy Friday friends! This week was jam-packed and flew by! I hope everyone had a great Labor Day and you were able to have some R & R. 🙂
One.It’s about time! I updated my about me page with a lot of questions that people have been asking over time about this space and life in general!
Two.After getting my hair highlighted this week, my hairdresser used Redken Align Smoothing Lotion  in my hair and it felt ah-mazing! She said it’s one of her favorite products to use, and I can see why it would be. 🙂 I also seriously love this curling iron!
Three.
This quote has resonated a lot with me lately. I have been thinking about it when I’m doing my devotions in the morning, at work, and at home. There is so much truth in it that I thought I’d share! Also, leave it to Oprah. 😉
Four.My Banana Bread to bake as the temps keep lowering!
Five.
THIS! I may have teared up. I love, love, love this show!
Grab some coffee, watch this trailer, and enjoy your weekend friends! 🙂
We had a date night last night, finished the second week of school, and have a long weekend! 🙂 Please and thank you! 🙂
One.In my What’s Up Wednesday post, I talked about my newfound obsession with podcasts. What are some of your favorite podcasts?! I spend a lot of time in the car, just based on my commute…so I’m all ears! 🙂
Two.I also talked about one of my favorite restaurants in this post. If you are close to (or want to take a little vacay) to Cape May, New Jersey, do yourself a favor and visit the Blue Pig! It’s a farm to table restaurant and their food is SO tasty!
Three.Urban Southern reached out to me about writing an article for their blog from a teacher’s perspective. I was so honored and loved this idea. I said yes in a heartbeat because I love their company for not only their bags, but what they stand for. You can check out the article, here! They are wonderful women that are building a great community. 🙂

Four.
It’s a FOUR day weekend! Wooohooo!
Five.Date nights are one of my favorite things. I love being able to put all work, housework, etc. aside and just enjoy time spent together. Whenever Eric and I go on a date though, we always end up going to a restaurant. I really do love trying new restaurants and even going back to some of our favorites. However, when I try to think of something else other than dinner for a date night, I get stumped. I know there are a million Pinterest ideas out there but I wanted to ask you what some of your favorite date night ideas are! 🙂
Eric and I started dating in the fall, so I have been thinking back to that time a lot lately. 🙂Â
What I’m loving:Alright, so I completely dove headfirst into podcasts. Eric listens to them on his commute and talks about them a lot. But my old car didn’t have bluetooth. (I know?) But I now spend my 45 minute commute listening my heart out to a ton of different podcasts and not wanting the drive to end. I’m obsessed.
I’ve been listening to anything from Shauna Niequist’s podcast to essential oil podcasts, to Jenna Kutcher. I’m loving them all. What other podcasts am I missing?!
I like fall. I really do. But I am a baby when it comes to cold weather. As in, anything less than 70 degrees makes me a little grumpy. So there’s that.Â
What I’m working on:
Braiding my hair more. Random, I know. 😉Â
What I’m excited about:Although I’m not a fan of the cold, I’m also really excited about pumpkin everything. It’s warm and cozy and who doesn’t love that?!
What I’m watching/reading:The last few weeks before school started, I loved watching Ellen in the afternoon. You can always count on her for a good laugh.
This book talks about how how language is the most powerful teaching tool in the classroom. I think it also can apply to every area of life and how our language can cultivate community wherever we are. You can buy it here.
What I’m listening to:
Silence (which I’m soaking up when it comes 😉 ) and podcasts.
What I’m wearing:I’ve talked about this dress before and I’m going to talk about it again. I bought it in navy in June and wore it in Italy, around the house, out to dinner, and so on. Yesterday it was super dreary all day and I wanted something extra comfortable to wear to school. I threw this dress on, paired with this and earrings similar to these. Done!
What I’m doing this weekend:
Sleeping in. Catching my breath. Celebrating my Mom’s birthday.
AND…my best friend from Germany text me saying her and her husband will be coming home! So excited!Â
What I’m looking forward to next month:Our hometown fair!
What else is new:
My daily routine has changed quite a bit from summer!
Bonus Question: What are my favorite back-to-school lunch ideas/tips?!
Prep is key! As a teacher, I love a good soup since we have a microwave at school, but I also have some absolute favs that I’ll list below!
My best day ever would be…
…starting early, snuggled up in a blanket, sipping some coffee near the beach with friends and family. Then, I would order Eggs Blackstone at the Blue Pig Restaurant…Â …then I would walk all around Cape May and park it on the beach with a sunny sky…
…and take a nap on the beach……I would somehow transport us to il Santo Bevitore in Florence for dinner (and in the process have someone do my hair and make-up;) )… …starting with appetizers and bread, then the main course, and dessert (all paired with wine of course!)……and end the day with a walk on the beach. 🙂THAT is what my perfect day would include!
(and now I kind of want to make that happen somehow) 😉
