April 2017

whatsupwed1WUWquestions editWhere has the time gone?! I feel like these posts sneak up way too fast and I’m disbelief that it’s April already!

What we’re eating this week:My Lemon Bites and my Veggie Detox Bowl.

What I’m reminiscing about:When I used to juice and how I miss it! This is the juicer we have and it has been great! It’s also really inexpensive on Amazon, here!

What I’m loving:

Thieves Cleaner.

What we’ve been up to:

We bought a car!

What I’m dreading:

Allergies. (I think that’s my answer every spring and fall!)

What I’m working on:

As I write this, I’m working on taking my time drinking this chai tea latte I’m sipping on and unwinding from the day. 😉

What I’m excited about:

Next month I’ll be at Lucketts helping at Miss Mustard Seed’s (Marian’s) stand! If you’re local or not, come out and say hi! 🙂

What I’m watching/reading:Has anyone watched Chesapeake Shores?!

Here’s the deal. One Saturday I was doing some light work and saw this on Netflix. It looked kind of like a Hallmark Christmas movie: Cheesy, yet cute. I started watching and got hooked. Over Easter, I told Eric I was so excited to have the day off and watch some of this, only to find out they took it off of Netflix!  Now I kind of want to buy the seasons and keep watching! 🙂

Our small group is reading, Staying in Love by Andy Stanley. It’s an easy read and really inspirational. 🙂

What I’m listening to:

What I’m wearing:

This tee. I wear it when I layer shirts. I wear it by itself. I wear it all the time.

I also am also loving these two shirts. One. Two. You know where this shirt would be perfect?! A Mother’s Day Fiesta!

What I’m doing this weekend:

We are going on a date. 🙂

What I’m looking forward to next month:

That it’s one month closer to summer. I’m craving some sunshine and pool days!

What else is new:

Same old, same old and I am just fine with that!

Bonus Question: What’s your favorite spring/summer shoe?

I keep it so simple over the summer. A few years ago I bought sandals that are kind of like this. I just said this weekend how I keep going back to them and I should probably get rid of them. But they are my go-to’s and I’m just not ready quite yet! 😉 I also love my rainbows!

Mother’s Day Fiesta

Via

Last year, we invited our Grandparents, Mom’s, Dad’s and sisters over for Mother’s Day. Theme and all. It was a Mother’s Day Fiesta and boy oh boy, was it fun to plan! We went heavy on food as the main focus (why not, right?!) and let the rest unfold as the day went on. We had margaritas, cornhole, and a lot of sunshine. We didn’t have many decorations. We kept it simple with flowers and a chalkboard that had the words, “Mother’s Day Fiesta”. A cute little banner drawing was right by it’s side as well. However, if we were to throw this party again, (and I really hope we do!) I would add some more decorations for an added touch.

I have loved so many showers, birthdays, weddings, etc. that I have gone to/thrown but it was impossible to capture all of them in just one post. 😉 Happy Tuesday and I hope you are a little inspired (and reminded) that Mother’s Day is just around the corner! xo

Spring Cleaning Tips

This post came at the perfect time since, for the first time, we did a proper spring cleaning. I was mentally taking notes as we went about it to share. Honestly, it went so much better than I thought and we now have a cleaner place than before. 🙂

I hope you can take bits and pieces of what worked for us and apply it to your home!

  1. Make a list/prioritize. Before we began cleaning, Eric said he wanted to write down an actual list of what we wanted to accomplish. I laughed because I didn’t see the purpose. Well, I was so wrong. It helped so much! As we were getting tired, we could look at the list and see that we only had already crossed off and exactly what still needed done.
  2. Which leads me to number two. Be realistic. You aren’t going to be able to clean every cobweb from floor to ceiling, purge every closet, and go through every file with precision in one day.  Push yourself and focus on the job you are setting out to do. Don’t write 13,935 down that you want to be completed in one day. That’s just not realistic and setting yourself up to be let down.
  3. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Invest in storage. Here are some of my favorites: Blanket Bin, Ottoman 1. Ottoman 2, Make-up and Jewelry Storage: One. Two. Three. Storage bins: One, Two, Three.
  4. Work as a team. Whether that means you and your husband, kids, whoever. Assign a job to each person and work together to accomplish it. It’s rewarding to everyone and gets the job done a lot faster. 😉
  5. You can also find some other tricks I mentioned, here!

What are your most important rooms or areas that you would like to tackle?
