Friday Favorites

Friday, Friday, Friday, I love you! We had such a great week and such a fun weekend ahead filled with friends, family, and headed to a wedding!

One.I needed nude sandals for a wedding that I’m in! Since I know I’m probably not the only bridesmaid out there searching for nude sandals, (since it’s a popular color for this time of year and weddings!) I thought I’d share theseย sandals. They are really inexpensive and comfortable. ๐Ÿ™‚

Two.I ordered the scent, Nag Champa, the other week from Antique Candle Works and guess who likes to burn this candle all the time? Eric! He loves it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Three.

Speaking of…

…one my my goals was so visit people at work this summer since I always wish I could during the school year. Eric and I got lunch together on Thursday and it was one of my favorite parts of the week. ๐Ÿ™‚

Four.Be sure to check back tomorrooooow for the recipe to my Salmon Salad with a Spicy Avocado and Cilantro Dressing! It is so different than anything I’ve ever created before! ๐Ÿ™‚

Five.

Bob’s Red Mill was so kind to give one lucky winner a $50 gift card to stock your kitchen with all their goodies! You can enter here and be sure to check out how I use their products!

Love you all and have a sunny weekend! xo

Friday Favorites

Happy, happy Friday everyone! This week has been hooooot and beautiful! I hope (the beautiful part) is the same where you are!

One.I picked this up at Target the other day because I have friends who rave about it. It’s been so nice to put on right before I go to the pool since it has SPF in it.

Two.In the last two weeks, I have made two big bowls of this chicken salad, just for Eric and I. We love it! We’ve had it by itself, on croissants, and on salads. It is so tasty!

Three.

I had a hair appointment this week and told her to go extra blonde. I felt like I was at home all over again. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Four.Speaking of getting my hair done…this spray is magical. I have talked about it before but stopped using it for ย a little bit because I just forgot to reorder it. I bought some again yesterday and love it even more. It gets rid of so many tangles and works like a charm!

Five.Brittany completely convinced me to buy thisย dress and I’m so excited for it to arrive today! ย I’m thinking of wearing it in Italy or any summer night? I ordered it in the navy blue. ๐Ÿ™‚

Keeping Busy

I know I don’t have kids that I need to keep busy this summer but I have spent the last 10 years doing just that. This is actually the first summer I am kid-free. However, I thought compiling a small list of some things I’ve done over the years might be fun to add to yours!

1. Go for ice cream (or make it together!) Recipe: here and here.

2. Go for a bike ride.

3. Go to an amusement or water park.

4. Join and visit a local library.

5. Crafts: Paint, color, etc.

6. Play any sport together

7. Talent shows

8. Movie day: Sleeping bags, popcorn, and fort included.

9. Go to the pool

10. Bake or cook together.

I hope everyone is having the BEST summer and loving every second of it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Doing It All

Today I’m linking up with Andrea and we’re sharing our struggles. This one I’m hoping I’m not alone in but also something I struggle with on a daily basis: Wanting to do it all.I’m a teacher, wife, friend, daughter, blogger, volunteer at church, and free-lance writer. I cook, clean, go to the gym, and so on. I’m not saying this because I want you see all the hats I wear because I know there are a lot of people who wear many more than I do and less as well. But I think as women, we generally struggle with the to-do list in our mind that never stops. Throw in my Type-A, perfectionist personality and some days some tears just have to be shed.Although the shadows I identify with are all really great things, it doesn’t change the fact that it can be overwhelming when they are all pulling for your attention. (And we don’t even have kids yet, I know!) Throughout the craziness I lean on the verse above and remember that my identity really needs to be found from above, in Christ. My sole purpose as I encounter all the situations and people who I am with each day is to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Is it easy? Far from it. Am I grateful that I lean on that and my relationship with Christ? More than words can say, yes. I love gaining wisdom from others on what helps them manage it all.

My question for you is: How do you manage and continue to ground yourself each morning and moment when you feel like you are being spread thin and wanting to do it all?

Friday Favorites

Well, the first full week of summer is in the books! It was a busy, relaxing, and fun week! ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you and your family have the best weekend ahead!

One.I used to own a frother that was similar to this. But one night I got over ambitious and it didn’t end well. ๐Ÿ™ ย After making matcha tea this weekend, I really wanted to order another one and try it out. Thisย one got great reviews and works like a charm. Plus, it’s so inexpensive! It just makes your average cup of coffee or drink extra fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

Two.So many feelings in one little post right here. ๐Ÿ™‚ These rings are a new favorite.

Three.

As I started to compile some more recipes for an e-book…I wanted to ask all of you what you want to see the most. Main dishes? Side dishes? Snacks? Drinks? Leave a comment or message me with which you want to see the most of!

Four. This candle seriously smells like my Mom’s kitchen..and now mine too. ๐Ÿ™‚ Antique Candle Works did it again. I love their candles!

Five.On Wednesday, I went to target to pick up five things and couldn’t find hardly any of them. So what did I do? Naturally I went to the clothing section and stuck a few things in my cart. Ha! I love my military vestย and wear it a lot, so when I saw a similar version of it in jacket form, I had to get it. Bonus: It was on sale for $7! I couldn’t find the original one online but it was a combo between this and this! Hopefully your local Target carries it also! ๐Ÿ˜‰ If not, check out these cute ones: One. Two. Three.
