Friday Favorites

Friday is heeeeere! πŸ™‚ I always get so excited on Fridays. I love them. πŸ™‚ Five of my favorites from the week are below! xo

One. I’ve really been trying to add more hands-on activities in the classroom. Students seem to really struggle in 5th grade with understanding what a fraction actually is. They can add them, subtract, multiply, and divide them, but to really understand what a fraction is…is very different. I found these foam circles last year and got so excited to use them right away! I had students compare fractions with the foam pieces so they could visually see the difference, instead of just on paper. They loved it. πŸ™‚

Two.I love our church so much. It does an amazing job of reaching out locally and globally. Two weeks ago, they asked everyone to help, “stuff the truck.” There was a large truck that a volunteer was driving to help with the hurricane. The truck was packed and the church gave so much! I love how giving everyone is. πŸ™‚

Three.I mentioned yesterday on Instagram how I was making Blueberry Crisp (which I ate yesterday morning with my Grandma). So sweet! πŸ™‚ You can also find a twist on Blueberry Crisp with my Blueberry Crumble recipe, here!Β

Four.

In case you needed this reminder today. πŸ™‚

Five. There’s nothing quite like putting some fresh soap on the sink and loooooving the scent. I bought these three scents (basil,Β honeysuckle,Β lavender)Β and love each and every one! It’s the little things in life. πŸ˜‰ Happy Friday friends!

Happy Friday friends! This week was jam-packed and flew by! I hope everyone had a great Labor Day and you were able to have some R & R. πŸ™‚

One.It’s about time! I updated my about me page with a lot of questions that people have been asking over time about this space and life in general!

Two.After getting my hair highlighted this week, my hairdresser used Redken Align Smoothing Lotion Β in my hair and it felt ah-mazing! She said it’s one of her favorite products to use, and I can see why it would be. πŸ™‚ I also seriously love thisΒ curling iron!

Three.

This quote has resonated a lot with me lately. I have been thinking about it when I’m doing my devotions in the morning, at work, and at home. There is so much truth in it that I thought I’d share! Also, leave it to Oprah. πŸ˜‰

Four.My Banana Bread to bake as the temps keep lowering!

We had a date night last night, finished the second week of school, and have a long weekend! πŸ™‚ Please and thank you! πŸ™‚

One.In my What’s Up Wednesday post, I talked about my newfound obsession with podcasts. What are some of your favorite podcasts?! I spend a lot of time in the car, just based on my commute…so I’m all ears! πŸ™‚

Two.I also talked about one of my favorite restaurants in this post. If you are close to (or want to take a little vacay) to Cape May, New Jersey, do yourself a favor and visit the Blue Pig! It’s a farm to table restaurant and their food is SO tasty!

Three.Urban Southern reached out to me about writing an article for their blog from a teacher’s perspective. I was so honored and loved this idea. I said yes in a heartbeat because I love their company for not only their bags, but what they stand for. You can check out the article, here! They are wonderful women that are building a great community. πŸ™‚

You can also still receive15% off any purchase!Β Use code spring15.Β

It’s a FOUR day weekend! Wooohooo!

Five.Date nights are one of my favorite things. I love being able to put all work, housework, etc. aside and just enjoy time spent together. Whenever Eric and I go on a date though, we always end up going to a restaurant. I really do love trying new restaurants and even going back to some of our favorites. However, when I try to think of something else other than dinner for a date night, I get stumped. I know there are a million Pinterest ideas out there but I wanted to ask you what some of your favorite date night ideas are! πŸ™‚

Happy Labor Day Weekend! πŸ™‚

Happy Friday everyone!

One.

The first week of school is in the books and let me tell you…God completely blessed this entire week! It was SO MUCH FUN! I loved getting to know the kids, the new setup of my room, and I even kind of liked being back in a routine. πŸ™‚ That was definitely a favorite of my week!

Two.Last weekend, we had a blast celebrating one of my closest friends, Ashley getting married! Everything from the weather to the flowers and everything in between was stunning! She gave usΒ this necklace as one of the bridesmaids gifts to wear in the wedding. So cute, right?! But one of the best parts about it was I can wear it outside of the wedding too! I love when that happens! πŸ™‚ I’m eyeing these up too…

Also, it was SO fun to be reunited with some of my study abroad (Recap: One, two, three, and four) friends. It felt like no time had passed since I saw them and I loved every second of it! πŸ™‚
