7.17.15

Our wedding day really was everything I imaged and more. I feel blessed beyond belief, thankful beyond words, and more confident in God’s timing than I ever have been. You have probably seen the long and short of the story of Eric and I on here a time or two but reliving it often, especially as an anniversary is approaching, feels like an essential.

About three months into dating, the idea of marriage slowly snuck into our conversations. It became something that we talked about more as the months went on, and 11 months into dating I was surprised with what I thought was breakfast, and turned into a, “Will you marry me?” There was no question in my mind that this was the right decision and I am grateful each day that I said, ‘yes.’

One of the most difficult parts of our relationship though was living a distance apart. We savored the weekends and spent almost all of them together. Sunday evenings and the goodbyes were never easy but leaving little love notes to each other became our thing until the next time we would see each other. I started writing him little sentiments on a post-it note but fell short one time when I couldn’t find anything but a thank you card. Somehow, it seemed fitting as I rambled on about all of the things I am thankful for that he encompasses and does. From there on out, a lot of our notes were written on thank-you cards and it was no surprise (and also the sweetest thing-ever!) when Eric wrote his vows on a thank you card for our wedding. We’re coming up on two years of marriage and to say I’m over the moon about him doesn’t do any justice. Things have only gotten so much better with time and I love doing life with him. I wanted something to wear to celebrate two years of us. Since I wear my bar necklace and ring all the time, I thought an engraved ring with our wedding date would be the perfect touch! I also added this stacking band for fun. If you need a reason to celebrate someone you love, there are endless options you can find here. 🙂

*Thank you to Jessica N. Designs for sponsoring this post and providing the rings. Opinions are 100% my own.

Friday Favorites

Today is the last day of school! I am SO ready and cannot believe it is actually here! 🙂

One.If you watch my Instagram stories you have seen my love for matcha lately. I ended up getting this brand because it got great reviews and is organic matcha. (Which is really important for the nutritional value). I was a little uneasy about trying it but it turns out I have had it every morning this week in place of my coffee!

I’ve heated up a little water, coconut milk, a teaspoon of matcha, and a tablespoon or honey. It’s delicious!

Two.I know I talked a few weeks ago about all these one piece swimsuits:

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. Eleven. Twelve….

…and then I came across this one. 🙂 I love all the ones I linked to but also can’t wait to get this one in the mail!

 Three.

I plan on laying by the pool tomorrow which is one of my favorite things!

Four.My Brighten-your-day Smoothie!

Five.Earrings / Charm Bracelet / Nautical Bangle / Sandals / Dress / Necklace / Ring

Last year I talked about my summer style a few times. As I’m headed to CT for the weekend for a bridal shower, I realized some of summer staples still remains the same and my favorites. Of course I have added a few new pieces for the summer that I am really excited about but I also love a long, black dress. 🙂

Happy Friday! I hope it’s the best one yet! 🙂

May 2017

whatsupwed1WUWquestions editI am SO excited it’s May! I am so ready for some sunshine and pool days! 🙂

What we’re eating this week:A lot of my Veggie Cornucopia and my Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp has been on repeat the last few weeks!

What I’m reminiscing about:Mother’s Day made me spend a lot of time thinking about my Grandmothers. 🙂 You can read all about them, here!

What I’m loving:

My mom brought me a box of old pictures the other week. I have loved looking through all of them. So cute!

What we’ve been up to:

Life has been busy! School is winding down. Italy is right around the corner. Eric has softball each week. Birthdays. Bridal showers. Baby showers. Weddings. You name it, we’re probably doing it!

What I’m dreading:

Nothing. 🙂

What I’m working on:

My tan. 😉 But I’ll also be wearing a lot of this.

What I’m excited about:

What am I not excited about lately?! There is a lot to look forward to, which is also why we have been so busy! 😉

What I’m watching/reading:After my dilemma last month with Netflix cancelling Chesapeake Shores, I decided to try Cedar Cove. I now love it and can’t stop watching. I’m such a sucker for Hallmark movies.

My Mom bought me both of these devotionals over ten years ago. I pulled them out of my desk the other day to switch up my devotions and have found some of the days so inspiring. They are short devos to read any time of day! You can buy the books here and here.

What I’m listening to:

I have been loving the acoustic version!

What I’m wearing:

I mentioned last month how I like to keep it pretty simple with shoes over the summer, which is true. But my pair of sandals that I love needs to retire. I ordered these three pairs in hopes of loving them just as much?!

What I’m doing this weekend:

Showering a sweet friend that is getting married! 🙂

What I’m looking forward to next month:

Getting more sleep!

What else is new:

Not much in the Spring household. 🙂

Bonus Question: What is your favorite vacation spot?

I have talked about my favorite vacation to Greece, Punta Cana, and Italy but….My favorite spot is Cape May, NJ. It is the sweetest area with the cleanest beaches and has the best food! I love it!

Have the best Wednesday! xo

Friday Favorites

A three day weekend is on it’s way…so that takes the cake for my number one favorite this week! Also, we only have four and half days of school left…which means I get to take a more serious (and closer) look at my Summer Bucket List! I cannot wait! There are definitely a lot of other goodies on my list this week though and I could really use your opinions!

Two.Last weekend we headed to VA to help Marian (Miss Mustard Seed) at Lucketts Spring Market. I felt so blessed to be able to go on this trip to experience all it had to offer. It is held at a fairgrounds with live music, yummy food vendors, and more than 200 Vintage Vendors on the East Coast. One of Marian’s readers offered their Bed and Breakfast (Zion Springs) to her and the people helping her out. It was SO gorgeous! I’m ready to go back in a heartbeat! It had beautiful land and the sweetest owners ever! Seriously, they are so gifted in hospitality. The breakfast and everything was top notch and I felt like I was in a little dream world staying there.

The entire weekend was so fun! Marian recapped her time here, here, and here! I also posted a few more pictures from the weekend, here!

Three.

The Mountain Between Us

Last week, I was talking to one of my student’s parents. She was telling me all about the author, Charles Martin and how much she loves him. She spoke so highly about his writing style and stories. I’m thinking of adding some of his books to my list for the summer. Has anyone read them?

Four.

Thursday was a rough day at work. I took one big sigh of relief when I hopped into the car on my way home because I was headed to get a massage. Lord knew I needed one! There you have number 4!

Five.

I debated whether to post about this because I couldn’t decide if I really should splurge and get one. I haven’t looked into Apple Watches a lot but I am looooving what I’m hearing and I really think I’m in store for a new watch. 😉 I’m thinking it would be ideal to have before Italy since it serves so many purposes! My questions for you are:

1. What do you know about the product? Comment with the good, the bad, and the ugly.

and….

2. Which style and color do you like best from below?

Happy Friday AND Memorial Day weekend everyone!  xo

The luckiest Granddaughter

“These examples I had and still have of both women are ones I don’t take lightly. I am supremely grateful for everything I have learned and the wisdom of I have gained from knowing them.”
