Friday Favorites

This week has been the absolute best! We were busy seeing friends and family and also found just enough down time to rest and reenergize. To be honest, I don’t want it to end!

Nonetheless, it’s Friday and I have a lot of favorites to share with you.

Everyone went above and beyond with gifts this year. They were extremely thoughtful and fitting. Between a night away for Eric and I, and some date nights to local restaurants and wineries, I’d say our families know us well. There were of course some other goodies that are equally as sweet that I have been using all week long!

One.These socks are insanely comfortable and heavy-duty. They are also on sale right now, here! My Mom also got me some amazing fuzzy socks! You can never go wrong with socks!

Two.
I’m in love with my Wellies. ๐Ÿ™‚

ย Three. My family knows my love of blankets and I’ve talked about this specific blanket a lot! We own it in the coffee color. ๐Ÿ™‚ Well…this year my sister-in-law made me a similar one. Yes, made it! It is so cozy and warm! I love it!

Four.I’ve been snuggled up and reading The Magnolia Story this week. ๐Ÿ™‚

Five.

For Christmas this year, we bought my Mother-in-law aย robe similar to thisย one. Little did I know I would be getting one in return! I have worn it every morning since unwrapping it. ๐Ÿ™‚ You can find a similar here and here.

Have the best Friday and a Happy New Year! See you Monday!

Egg and Sausage Breakfast Casserole

Egg and Sausage Breakfast Casserole Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comEgg and Sausage Breakfast Casserole Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com Egg and Sausage Breakfast Casserole Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comBrunch on Christmas morning was our thing with Eric’s side of the family, but this year we brunched with my side. Either way, it’s a win-win. Brunch, family, and Christmastime!

The best part about this recipe is the simplicity of it all. While packing for three Christmas’ after our churches Christmas Eve service, and wanting to snuggle on the couch, the last thing I wanted to do was spend the entire night in the kitchen. I wanted to savor the moments and enjoy them while they lasted. I laid out the crescent roll, browned the sausage, covered them, and placed it in the refrigerator. The next morning other, than squealing about all things Christmas, I whisked the eggs mixture and placed it in the oven. Creating the memories surrounding Christmas was exactly what I was able to, thanks to this yummy and simple creation. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ingredients:

  • One can Crescent rolls
  • One pound of ground sausage
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1.5 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

What to do:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×13 pan with butter. Line the pan with the crescent rolls. (If you unravel them the way they come out of the can, you are set!) In a large pan, brown the sausage. Drain the grease and layer on top of the crescent rolls. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour overtop the sausage. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.

Let’s Talk Home Tips and Tricks

I think the biggest key to organization is staying on top of things little by little and day by day. Something as simple as putting something back where you got it and doing a load of laundry before it piles up goes a long way. I would consider myself an organized person and these few suggestions may be little as well, but again go a long way in terms of keeping things tidy most days. ๐Ÿ˜‰Adding tea tree oil to a load of older rags or wash clothes on a hot cycle can help clean your washer. You add about 10 drops directly to the washer and it will keep everything running smoothly and clean out all the excess. ๐Ÿ™‚

Metal Milk Crate: I love to use these in closets to keep things together in one place.

Jewelry Holder: This has been SO nice to hold jewelry. I have my necklaces and bracelets stored in something similar to this. I also have a similar one to divide my make-up brushes and make up. (Foundation, lips, eyes,ย etc).

Circular Wire Basket: I use this as our laundry basket. ๐Ÿ™‚

Wire Basket With Hooks: This is perfect to hold our keys and a few randoms we like to have on hand in our main room, instead of the office. It keeps it organized and is convenient.

Clear Tray: I use this to separate myย earringsย and rings.

Ottoman: I cannot say enough about this ottoman. I have used it in our bedroom and now have it in our living room. It’s functional, perfect to store blankets, and I love the style of it. Plus, it has held up phenomenally over the years.

I hope you and your family had the best Christmas and are still celebrating. ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy Monday!

What’s Up Wednesday: December

whatsupwed1 WUWquestions editIt is the LAST What’s Up Wednesday of 2016! Crazy! Here we go! ๐Ÿ™‚

What we’re eating this week:The other night I needed some baking therapy and found myself making my Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins. I haven’t made them in awhile and forgot how delicious they are! I also took some in for my friends at school. ๐Ÿ™‚ย

What I’m reminiscing about:

Four years ago I just finished student teaching, graduated college, and signed a lease to move in with my best friend. That was all within two days of each other. A lot has changed in four years and yet so much is still the same. ๐Ÿ™‚ย And five years ago I was getting ready for my semester to Greece. I am always reminiscing about this place. What I would give to go back…

Greece:ย Part 1

Greece: Part 2

Greece: Part 3

Greece: Part 4

What I’m loving:

Our home. It has been so cozy with the soft lights, warm blankets, and Hallmark movies playing. ๐Ÿ™‚

What we’ve been up to:

We have been busy bee’s lately between work and holiday festivities!

What I’m dreading:

I get SO sad when we have to take our tree down each year. I may keep it up a little longer this year.ย

What I’m working on:

Making it to Christmas break. ๐Ÿ˜‰

What I’m excited about:Christmas break!

What I’m watching/reading:

My favorite Christmas moviesย have been playing non-stop. Also, Monday nightย we watched the Santa Clause and forgot how funny it was! I loved this movie as a kid!I also started re-reading this book in hopes of being more focused than frazzled during this holiday season.

What I’m listening to:

Still this station…all day long. ๐Ÿ™‚

What I’m wearing:My Mrs. Claus Tunic.

Fuzzy socks.

Nail polish (Pat On The Blackย and Big Apple Red)ย since I have stopped biting my nails. I sound like an 8 year old little girl. ha! it’s the little things in life. ๐Ÿ™‚ย

What I’m doing this weekend:

We have dinner plans Friday night and then our annual Ugly Sweater party! Friends are coming over Christmas Eve morning. Then, we have our churches Christmas Eve service, and my parents are coming over afterwards. Christmas morning, we’ll go to my parents for brunch and then to Eric’s parents for the rest of the day. This may take the cake for the busiest weekend of 2016. ๐Ÿ˜‰ย

What I’m looking forward to next month:Snow days anyone?!ย

What else is new:

Our church has talked a lot about peace this month and what that really entails. It has involved a lot of soul-searching in the midst of a lot of challenges lately.ย

Philippians 4: 6-7. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.ย And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Bonus Question: What is your favorite memory from 2016?

My favorite memory would have to be all the trips Eric and I took together. I love traveling with him. ๐Ÿ™‚ย
