Pina Colada Hemp Smoothie

pina-colada-hemp-smoothieHemp hearts. What are they? Well, I’m so glad you asked. 😉 I bought them for a muffin recipe after realizing the abundant amount of nutritious value in them. They are a great source of protein, vitamin E, and omega three’s. The neutral taste can be added to a variety of recipes. After making the muffins, I wanted to try out these little guys for something else. Something new. Naturally I went to Pinterest and found this fun smoothie recipe. We conveniently had all of the ingredients and it took about one click before I was making this concoction in our Vitamix and sipping its goodness. I had Eric try it and we both loved how refreshing it tasted. You can read the original recipe here! Yum! Enjoy! 🙂

Mornin’ Sunshine

Juicing Recipe found at: stephanie-spring.com

On Saturday, Eric and I had a slow morning. Just the way I like it. 🙂 We slept in, made breakfast, sipped coffee and relaxed. One of my favorite parts about breakfast was the fresh juice that we made. I always forget how much I love it until I take that first sip. There really is nothing like it. It is so light, fresh, and flavorful. Last month I talked about my favorite kitchen gadgets, here and obviously the Bella Juicer was on the list because it works wonders. There are endless combinations of fruits that taste oh so yummy but I always go back to this recipe. Once you have had fresh juice, there is no going back and I don’t plan on it. 😉

Mornin’ Sunshine

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple (peeled)
  • 1 grapefruit (peeled)
  • 3 oranges (peeled)

What to do:

Place all ingredients into a juicer and turn on high until all juice has finished processing. Pour and enjoy! 🙂

(I drink it within an hour for peak freshness!)

Happy Tuesday! 🙂

Have a Cup of Cheer

Homemade Hot Chocolate. Recipe found at: stephanie-spring.comHomemade Hot Chocolate. Recipe found at: stephanie-spring.comHomemade Hot Chocolate. Recipe found at: stephanie-spring.comOne of my favorite drinks is hot chocolate. It’s simple, delicious, and can be finished with a variety of toppings. As I was Christmas shopping, I stumbled upon these spoons and realized they would be the perfect pair to any hot drink, for any time of year. Give me the people I love, a warm blanket, and a mug filled to the brim with hot chocolate, lots of whipped cream and crushed peppermint and I’ve officially reached my happy place. Go pour yourself and your loved ones some hot chocolate and use a cute spoon to stir it up!

New Year, New You

Green Smoothie Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com Green Smoothie Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com Green Smoothie Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comTo be honest, I’m not into New Year’s resolutions. Making a goal for the entire year is a little overwhelming to me since I’m not even sure what next month holds. Goals or no goals…I’m hoping I’m not the only one that probably ate a little more than normal over the holidays and could use a break from heavy foods.

This smoothie is packed with so many nutrients and makes you feel healthier with every sip! It’s such a simple recipe that I make it about three times a week. It jumpstarts your morning, gives you a kick in the afternoon or levels you out in the evening. New year, new you! Drink up, ladies! With this green smoothie, that is. 😉 Happy New year! xoGreen Smoothie Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comGreen Smoothie Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk ( I use unsweetened almond milk)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 ice cubes (I use 4 if the banana wasn’t frozen)
  • 1 large spoonful of peanut butter
  • 1 large handful of organic kale
  • 1 small handful of spinach
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • *Sometimes I add 2 tablespoons of ground flax seed or 1 tablespoon chia seed. They are both SO good for you and can’t be tasted in the smoothie. This is optional.*

What to do:

Combine all ingredients into a blender (or the best invention ever…the Vitamix). Blend until it is completely smooth.
