Peanut Butter Chocolate Smoothie

Here’s the thing guys. Whenever I make recipes on a whim, they either turn end up in a masterpiece where I feel like I can conquer the world, or they are just a flat-out disaster. Sometimes I laugh at the disasters and sometimes I feel like I could shed a few tears. Creating is a funny thing. BUT, when it works in your favor, it’s glorious! 🙂

I think I stumbled upon one of my best creations yet with this smoothie. Thank goodness this recipe took the first (masterpiece scenario) and not the latter. It’s smooth. It’s decadent. It’s sweet. It’s refreshing. It screams winter. It can get on board with summer. It’s everything you want in one glass that only takes seconds to make, with ingredients you most likely already have! This drink is definitely one to save and serve to your kids, hubby, friends, and family. You can never go wrong with chocolate peanut butter friends. You will LOVE it! xo

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup organic whole milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 3-4 ice cubes
  • 1 Tbsp dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp peanut butter

Directions:

Combine all ingredients into a quality blender and blend until smooth. Easy!

Peaches and Cream Ginger Smoothie

Peaches and Cream Ginger Smoothie--Recipe: stephanie-spring.comPeaches and Cream Ginger Smoothie--Recipe: stephanie-spring.com Peaches and Cream Ginger Smoothie--Recipe: stephanie-spring.comPeaches and Cream Ginger Smoothie--Recipe: stephanie-spring.comYou know how peanut butter and jelly go perfectly together? Eggs and bacon? Salt and pepper? Chip and Dale? Barbie and Ken? Bride and groom? I’d like to throw ginger and peaches in the mix because it’s as if they should have never been apart. Peach season is one of the best seasons, in my opinion. Whether you agree or not, the creaminess will convince you that this smoothie is a must. The light fluffiness of the coconut milk and yogurt, balanced with the sweetness of a few peaches, and then a taste of ginger for a zing make it the perfect summer treat. If anyone wants to make summer last longer, it’s me. That being said, this drink puts me in my happy place which includes summer all the time! Peaches and Cream Ginger Smoothie--Recipe: stephanie-spring.com Peaches and Cream Ginger Smoothie--Recipe: stephanie-spring.comPeaches and Cream Ginger Smoothie--Recipe: stephanie-spring.com Peaches and Cream Ginger Smoothie--Recipe: stephanie-spring.com

Matcha Monday

Matcha Frappuccino--Recipe at:stephanie-spring.com Matcha Frappuccino--Recipe at:stephanie-spring.comMatcha Frappuccino--Recipe at:stephanie-spring.comIt’s Monday and Matcha is on the mind. But let me tell you, the heat has been turned up around here. The temperatures here have been in the mid 90’s and for PA, that’s not completely the norm. When I step outside in the morning and it’s already warm, sometimes a hot drink isn’t my first craving. I took a spin on the average matcha latte I’ve been making and tried my hand at making it into a homemade frappuccino. Turns out, I loooove it just as much! 🙂 So will you, promise. xo

Aloha Smoothie with prAna

I was talking to a friend the other day about how I need to switch up my workout routine. Thank goodness for some good ol’ sunshine these days, that is making a world of difference. In my mind, being outside is one of the best parts of the change from winter to spring. (Cold weather and I just don’t mix very well!) Do you want to know one of the other best factors to get me motivated? New workout gear. I’ve heard it said time and time again and tried to convince myself that my high school tee and older shorts were just fine. Although they are and get the job done, there is something about a new set of clothing that ups the ante for that early morning, eyes-still-half-asleep workout. Am I right or am I right? 😉

Whether it’s yoga, going for a run, or simply a walk, taking time to slow down and enjoy you is really what working out is all about. Pair your workout with some this fair trade, organic comfies from prAna and you are set! If nothing else, this Aloha Smoothie post-workout is refreshing and refuels you when you need it most! I like to workout early in the morning so this smoothie can serve two purposes: Post workout food and breakfast. Embrace this season sipping on something healthy for you while wearing something that is sustainable.
