Friday Favorites

Friday is heeeeere! ๐Ÿ™‚ I always get so excited on Fridays. I love them. ๐Ÿ™‚ Five of my favorites from the week are below! xo

One. I’ve really been trying to add more hands-on activities in the classroom. Students seem to really struggle in 5th grade with understanding what a fraction actually is. They can add them, subtract, multiply, and divide them, but to really understand what a fraction is…is very different. I found these foam circles last year and got so excited to use them right away! I had students compare fractions with the foam pieces so they could visually see the difference, instead of just on paper. They loved it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Two.I love our church so much. It does an amazing job of reaching out locally and globally. Two weeks ago, they asked everyone to help, “stuff the truck.” There was a large truck that a volunteer was driving to help with the hurricane. The truck was packed and the church gave so much! I love how giving everyone is. ๐Ÿ™‚

Three.I mentioned yesterday on Instagram how I was making Blueberry Crisp (which I ate yesterday morning with my Grandma). So sweet! ๐Ÿ™‚ You can also find a twist on Blueberry Crisp with my Blueberry Crumble recipe, here!ย

Four.

In case you needed this reminder today. ๐Ÿ™‚

Five. There’s nothing quite like putting some fresh soap on the sink and loooooving the scent. I bought these three scents (basil,ย honeysuckle,ย lavender)ย and love each and every one! It’s the little things in life. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Happy Friday friends!

Summer to Fall

I was just telling Eric how I’m amazed each year at the change of seasons. The summer nights no longer feel warm and produce a burst of chill to prep us for Fall. The high of 70 in our neck of the woods, feels much cooler than a 70 degree spring day. It’s crazy how each year I always seem to forget the feeling but nonetheless it comes around and reminds me. ๐Ÿ™‚ That being said, there are some staples that I get to reintroduce to myself each and every change of the seasons. From scarves, to boots and everything in between, I’ve listed some of my favorite pieces that can still have a slight touch of summer but definitely scream Fall and go great with a Pumpkin Spice Latte in hand. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A fall scarf. ๐Ÿ™‚

A warm sweater.

You can never go wrong with a military vest, jacket, or jean jacket.

Of course switching from sandals to boots is a must for fall.

Enjoy your Wednesday ladies!

Unpacking

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t already tired from the week. We have Curriculum Night at school this evening, so it will be a long day but hey, coffee, right?! ๐Ÿ˜‰Nars Lip Pencil/ย Lip Gloss/ย Hand Lotion/ย Vaseline/ย Wallet/ย Blistex/ย Nars Lip Pencil

Most days you will find me toting around this bag or this one. I love them equally for different reasons whether it’s the leather, the size, or shape. One is much bigger, than the other but at the end of the day, I still bring along the same essentials for every day in both bags.

Remember this post? Yeah, not much has changed. ๐Ÿ˜‰ The only main switch up is that a super sweet student got me this wallet last year and I have been using it ever since. I also use something somewhat similar to thisย to hold some make-up. (You can find my favorite make-up here). I like to keep encouraging notesย from Eric or friends because I definitely need some encouragement from time to time. ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Tuesday friends!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends! This week was jam-packed and flew by! I hope everyone had a great Labor Day and you were able to have some R & R. ๐Ÿ™‚

One.It’s about time! I updated my about me page with a lot of questions that people have been asking over time about this space and life in general!

Two.After getting my hair highlighted this week, my hairdresser used Redken Align Smoothing Lotion ย in my hair and it felt ah-mazing! She said it’s one of her favorite products to use, and I can see why it would be. ๐Ÿ™‚ I also seriously love thisย curling iron!

Three.

This quote has resonated a lot with me lately. I have been thinking about it when I’m doing my devotions in the morning, at work, and at home. There is so much truth in it that I thought I’d share! Also, leave it to Oprah. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Four.My Banana Bread to bake as the temps keep lowering!

Five.

THIS! I may have teared up. I love, love, love this show!

Grab some coffee, watch this trailer, and enjoy your weekend friends! ๐Ÿ™‚

Healthy Banana Bread

I’ll keep this short and sweet today. Remember my healthy pumpkin bread recipe from the other week? This bread contains the same basic ingredients, remains healthy with every bite, is still served best with a side of milk or coffee, and only requires swapping out a few ingredients. It’s as simple as 1, 2, 3 and can be served as breakfast or a snack for the entire family. What more could you want? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ingredients:

  • 3 very ripe medium-sized bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsp coconut oil (melted)
  • 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp almond butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1/4 cup organic coconut palm sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp ground flax seed
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

What to do:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large-sized bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Stir together and set aside. In a medium-sized bowl combine all wet ingredients and whisk. Add to dry ingredients and whisk together. Grease pan (I used butter) and pour batter into a loaf pan. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until you can stick a toothpick in and it comes out clean.
