Want, Need, Read, Wear: 2017

Want:Eric (and his 6’7″ self) has been wanting a new bed for several months now. He loves researching, so I told him to go for it. After weeks of looking up all different mattresses and reading a ton of reviews, we decided on the Leesa Mattress. We ordered the California King size (hence 6′ 7″) which adds not just width in the mattress but length. Thank Jesus!

I also looooove that it comes with a 100 night risk-free trial, free shipping and returns, and a 10 year warranty. One of my favorite parts above all else? One mattress is donated for
every ten sold!

In the process, we ordered this frame, and these sheets.

Need:

I’m using the word, “need” pretty loosely here but on the other hand, my skin is extremely sensitive. I use all of these products every single day. My skin is very dry and lost without these. Click on any of the links above to buy these products!

Read:

All of these books are my favorite to gift or read for yourself! I highly recommend all of them! Click on any of the links above or below to read more about them!

Wear:

Here’s a random assortment of things I wear often and absolutely love! Most of these I have listed before because they hold tried and true. 🙂

Egg and Sausage Quiche

I love the feeling of a hearty breakfast right around the holidays. Hearty doesn’t have to mean added calories though. Clean and quality ingredients go a long way, friends.

Picture this: Thanksgiving eve you prepare the sausage, egg mixture, and simply cover with some foil and place in the fridge. When you wake up on Thanksgiving morning, the only thing you need to do is preheat the oven and wait 30 minutes until the quiche is fully cooked. Eric and I definitely ate a large portion though because it was just too good. Doubling the recipe is never a bad idea if you have two pie pans on hand. 😉

Make your mornings delicious and simple so you can watch more of the Macy’s Day Parade with family. 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 7 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp whole milk
  • S & P to taste
  • Optional toppings: Sriracha, salsa

What to do:

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Cook sausage until fully brown on medium heat. Drain grease. Grease a pie pan with organic butter. Pour sausage into pie pan and spread evenly. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour over sausage. Tilt the pie pan if needed to make sure the egg mixture is evenly spread as well.

Cook for 30 minutes or until the edges are slightly brown. Cut a slice and top with the toppings listed above. 🙂

Friday Favorites

How is Thanksgiving next week already?! How? I am SO excited for some down time with friends and family. But first, I’m sharing some of my very favorites from this week!

One.

Urban Southern was on Fox News and I am SO proud of them! I love their roots, company, and products. They are just great all around! 🙂

Two.On a whim, I went to a local shop and bought a metal planter/bin the other week (similar to this one). But, I wasn’t sure what I would use it for or where I would put it.

As I was driving home, a local florist was giving away some flowers and plants because they were moving to a new location. My point is, that this bin and random plant makes a little space where I have some Christmas decorations. I love it and know I will use it through all different seasons. 🙂 Plus, the price (which is similar to what I paid)!

Three.

Um..we have a half day of school tomorrow and time to work on report cards. All the teachers will understand how that is definitely a necessary favorite!

Four.I just love these mugs. They are a favorite. 🙂

Five.My Winter Greens Salad is one of my FAVORITES!

I hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend! xo
