There are SO many talented people out there! However, after attending my sister-in-law’s wedding, my best friend’s wedding, and seeing so many beautiful pictures…it was a no brainer. Sarah Brookhart was who we wanted to be our wedding photographer. 🙂

Sarah and I knew each other in college but it wasn’t until after college when she started pursuing photography, that I saw a lot more of her! 🙂 Sarah is fun, energetic, creative, and amazing at what she does! It was so reassuring to have your photographer become such a sweet friend during the entire engagement process. We completely trusted her input which allowed us to relax and have fun!  View More: http://sarahbrookhart.pass.us/steph-ericAll of these lovely women above (and so many more!) chose Sarah to capture their special day. Ugly Sweater Christmas Party

Christmas partySmall groups are heavily encouraged at our church. I wrote a post about a women’s small group I recently finished here. I love small groups and I am so glad I get to do life with each and every one of these couples. This past weekend, one of the couples hosted an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party. They went ALL out and it was so much fun! The night was filled with Christmas music, a hot chocolate bar, white elephant gifts, a photo booth, games, prizes, a contest for the ugliest sweater, so much food, and so many laughs.

Christmas partyAll of the men decided to grow out their beards and shave down to only a mustache…I have no words.
Christmas partyChristmas partyAnd the favorite of the night…the guy’s tried to create an “awkward family photo”. I’d say they succeeded! 😉 Christmas partyI hope your Christmas Eve is much less awkward than this photo and filled with so much love.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! xoxo

Festive Holiday Favorites

Christmas-Pajamas2

1. Victoria’s Secret Flannel Pajama  2. Victoria’s Secret Fireside Pajama

3. J Crew Pajama set    4. Loft Set (found in stores)

We’re only a few days away from Christmas. I’m a planner, so if I’m being honest…most things are done. But the perks of procrastinating?! Sales, sales, and more sales! Sales on everything festive that we thought the shelves would be cleared of! The good news is that they’re still available! I spend a lot of my holiday break in my pajamas. It just happens. Stocking up on pajamas for the rest of the winter and even next Christmas doesn’t sound so bad when they are seriously discounted! Happy shopping and snuggling!

Whole Wheat Biscuits

Whole Wheat Biscuits stephanie-spring.comWhole Wheat Biscuits stephanie-spring.comThere’s something about the house being decorated for Christmas, a chill in the morning air, Christmas music softly playing and knowing people are going to wake up one by one to the smell of whole wheat biscuits baking.

There’s something about slowly waking up, wrapping yourself in a blanket, grabbing coffee and awaiting these to be fresh out of the oven.

There’s something about knowing that whatever you top these circular masterpieces with…it will be amazing.

There’s something about trying one with butter and honey and then trying one with butter and jam.

There’s something about creating memories based upon smells, tastes, and family.

There’s something about these biscuits and I love it!

Christmas is so soon! xoxo

Whole Wheat Biscuits Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, cold and cut into pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk, cold

What to do:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a large bowl whisk flours, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles course meal. Add buttermilk to dry ingredients, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly 4 to 5 times. Roll or pat dough out to about 1-inch thickness.  Cut with a biscuit cutter and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for about 12 to 14 minutes or until brown.
