Show and Tell Tuesday: A Mix Tape of my Life
I’m linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesdays! Today, we’re talking all about a mix tape to my life. For the first 15 years of my life, my sister and I probably bonded over our love for every pop star possible. Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, and Hanson, had us singing, dancing, and making home videos, one song at a time.
This post made me so nostalgic and I had a tough time narrowing it down to just a few. But ladies, here you have it. The songs throughout the years that perfectly describe each stage of life. (With a tiny bit of shame and a lot of laughter).
Any Point of Grace, Amy Grant, or Vacation Bible School songs takes me back to the days of my sister and me doing a million errands with my Mom in the car, riding to church as a family, or to VBS and listening to music throughout it all.
During later Elementary and middle school we listened to every pop star that appeared on MTV or the radio, including the pop princess herself and who I aspired to be. (Insert a million laughs).
Senior year of High School was a lot of heartache, tears, decisions, and transitions. You’re Gonna Miss This by Trace Adkins was played during a slide show senior year of memories since elementary school and My Wish by Rascall Flatts was our class song. I went through a serious Jason Aldean phase throughout it all and then off to college I went. Looking back on songs that define my senior year of high school seems to explain this post a little more. 😉
These definitely are not my proudest moments with song choices but bear with me…
Freshman year of college (2008-2009). Let’s keep it clean and go with Taylor Swift’s Love Story. 😉
Sophomore year of college (2009-2010). John Mayer’s new CD came out, which basically encompassed the entire year in so many ways.
Junior Year of college (2010-2011). Other than the year I got married, 2011 was the year that saw the most changes in my life. I lived in the city, studied abroad, and experienced so much of the world in one year. Without You by Keith Urban, all of Adele’s, “21” CD, Dirt Road Athem by Jason Aldean, and Easy by Rascall Flatts would definitely make the list.
Senior year of college (2011-2012). I still request this at weddings and/or anywhere where there will be dancing and get insanely excited when it plays. Who doesn’t love some T.L.C. and No Scrubs? 😉
2013 and 2014 run together but here are some that stick out.
2015. Never Stop by SafetySuit was our wedding song and would be the start to another mix tape to my life. 🙂
Go listen to a few of these songs and have a happy Tuesday, friends!

Stopping by from the link up! Amy Grant always reminds me of my mom – she would play that on the weekend at home, in the car, especially at Christmas. Just love those albums. Rascal Flatts and Jason Aldean are definitely favorites of mine…just so many great songs you have listed!

I still have my NSYNC and BSB cd’s! It is so funny how I haven’t listened to their songs in years, but when I hear a song I know every.word!
I saw Amy Grant in concert a few years ago, she put on a great show!
