How to Win My Heart
I’m linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday: How to Win my Heart!
About two and a half years ago, this guy won my heart and I am so glad he did. ๐
Early on in our relationship, Eric and I read, “The Five Love Languages” to figure out the best ways to love each other.ย I know it may sound silly but it seriously helped! We’re in this for the long haul and I don’t want to be going above and beyond with things that aren’t of importance to him.Eric is veryย driven, knows what he wants, loves Jesus and is talented in so many ways. He’s smart, athletic and funny. I could go on and on. He’s great. But how did he win my heart?
One of the most important gifts Eric gives me is his time. He really devotes time for just the two of us. It is honestly one of the best ways he loves me. He is alsoย extremely thoughtful. One year he surprised me with an Easter basket filled to the brim with all my favorite things. You would have thought I won the lottery! I was so smitten because he knew me so well, had thought through buying everything, and surprised me in the process.
There are two things that win my heart in general. They just do. Over and over again. Dark chocolate and Cabernet Sauvignon. I mention both a lot throughout the week. From time to time, Eric stocks up and hides both of these things so that when I mention that I’m really craving dark chocolate or could use a glass of wine, it’s right there. He’s thoughtful and that, without a doubt, wins my heart.
I love a good hand written note. Eric and I started this before we were even, “officially” dating and it gets me every time. I have saved every single note he has written me. This is so special to both of us, that for our wedding he bought me a vintage mailbox from France, “So we would always have a place to leave each other notes.”
There you have it, ladies! How did your man win your heart? ๐

I love it! Mine won mine by listening and showing complete interest in what I have to say, even when I know I’m rambling!
