whatsupwed1

WUWquestions editI’m late to the What’s Up Wednesday party but better late than never. Right?! 😉

What we’re eating this week:My must-have Thanksgiving side dish! It’s so addicting! 2016-01-29_0001I’ve also been sipping on this!

What I’m reminiscing about:Italy! Eric and I are about to book our flights and so many memories are coming back from this trip! Italy is one of my favorite countries and I am thrilled to be going back!

What I’m loving:These oils! The more I use them, the more I love them. Be sure to check back on Friday for a giveaway! 😉

What we’ve been up to:

To honest, all things Christmas! I am a huge fan of Thanksgiving but filling our home with Christmas things makes it extra cozy!

What I’m dreading:

Is it too early to be dreading the post holiday lull? I’m trying to soak up the next few weeks as much as possible because I get so sad when it all ends.

What I’m working on:

Mark your calendars! The week of December 5th I am hosting a week of giveaways as a thank you to all my readers!

What I’m excited about:

The list is long but the highlights are a five day break ahead of me with the ones I love, a hair appointment on Tuesday, (it’s the little things in life!) my friend who told me several weeks ago that she is pregnant, and our Christmas cards to arrive! That covers all the high points. 😉

What I’m watching/reading:movieawards-2015favechristmasmoviesThis has been on non-stop. 🙂

This, this, this!

51ccygimkcl-_sx388_bo1204203200_The extent of my reading lately has been cookbooks!

What I’m listening to:screen-shot-2016-11-02-at-6-49-46-pm

Told you our home was filled with Christmas. 😉

What I’m wearing:

My wardrobe has consisted of a few things: Black leggings, dress, half zips, and pajamas.

What I’m doing this weekend:

Family, friends, and getting a tree. Perfect. 🙂

What I’m looking forward to next month:

Christmas!

What else is new:

Something has happened this month that has allowed me to settle more into a groove. A good groove. This month has flown by but I am so thankful for this pace and time of life. 🙂

Bonus Question: What’s your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?

We don’t really have any! Eric and I were just talking about how we want to be more intentional about creating some though! What are your ideas?! 🙂

You’ll find us tomorrow having a slow morning watching the Parade before we see family! Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone!

Show and Tell + Christmas Gifts

show-and-tell-ig-graphic

The excitement the week of Thanksgiving is at an all time high! 1.5 days until an extended weekend and time spent with family. I’m so ready and excited. But first I’m talking about want, need, wear, and read’s that are on my Christmas list this year. You know, in case the Black Friday deals sucker me in. 😉

Want:41cn1zzh-kl-_ac_us160_My sister-in-law is so generous and has let us borrow her camera for a few months. I’m looking at investing in either a Nikon or Canon. Thoughts?! If there’s something I definitely want this Christmas, it’s this. 😉

Need:

Eric and I were talking a few weeks ago about Christmas lists and completely stumped. When it really comes down to it we are completely thankful for everything we have and don’t need a thing. But then again, it would be nice to have loans and a house paid off. 😉 I also could really use a manicure, pedicure, haircut, facial peel, and a vacation. 😉 But in all seriousness, we really are not in need of anything and that is a huge blessing.

Wear:  My list of things that need replenished or I’d love to try: Nike Sneakers/ Beauty Blender/ LAVANILA/ bareMinerals lip/ Hunter Boots/ Dolce and Gabana Perfume

I’m also dying to try these! Has anyone used them? Love? Hate?

I have grown a deep, deep, love for these leggings!

Read:2016-11-20_0001I need some holidays reading recommendations! It made me so sad when I didn’t have any books come to my mind that I have been eager to read. Meanwhile, I compiled a list of some of my favorites that would make fun Christmas gifts to give to others!

I can’t wait to read everyone’s list! Happy Tuesday!

Friday Favorites + Fireside Collection

Friday Favorites 01Praise the Lord for Fridays. Oh, and thank Jesus for coffee to help me get to Friday. 😉

One.
51ccygimkcl-_sx388_bo1204203200_I got this cookbook a few years ago and there is one recipe I go back to again and again. Late Summer Farro, Butternut Squash, and Arugula Salad is a favorite. I made it last year and this year for our Friendsgiving and it’s a crowd pleaser. 🙂

Two.movieawards-2015favechristmasmoviesI have been watching Hallmark Christmas movies like it is my job. I turn it on right when I get home and let it play throughout the evening. It makes me so happy. 🙂

Three.

Speaking of Christmas. I got our Christmas decor out this week and our home is feeling extra cozy because of it! I went a little reindeer crazy last year. I bought a reindeer figure, pillow, and stocking holders. (All similar in links). Throw in some Christmas balls and lights and we’re set in the Spring household.

Four.

I have talked about sweaters similar to this before because they are a favorite! I wore a sweater yesterday that is basically a combo of these two meshed into one from a previous season. It is SO comfortable, easy to mix and match, and to dress up or down. I basically want to order both of these now too. 😉

Five.I’ve talked all about my love for Jessica N Designs a ton! Well today, they are launching their Fireside Collection and I am in love with it! You can flip through the collection, here! Spread Love, Joy, and Peace

dsc_0177dsc_0178dsc_0166The holidays encompass so many things in my mind. I cherish the extra time with family that falls through the cracks throughout the year. I love seeing friends from near and far, coming together under one roof for one party or another. I crave the food that is hearty and rich and should only be enjoyed among the ones you love. It’s the epitome of holidays to me.

To kick off the season in eatable fashion, a cheese board is the staple of it all. The conversation starter. A piece of art. A mix of flavors that pairs the best with wine. From Thanksgiving to Christmas my heart bursts at the seams with all that’s in store. Cheese boards are the beginning of memories to be made. Here’s to the combinations on one small board that will have your heart singing from Thanksgiving to Christmas and beyond!

Which one you ask? The frozen yogurt or the dark chocolate peanut butter cups? Actually, both! The best idea was to put the two together to create a bowl of goodness.

Our ice cream maker was an unexpected gift for our wedding and boy did we welcome it with open arms! It is easy to use and clean up!

Even if it is chilly outside, your family will love this and keep coming back from more. Plus, you don’t need to tell them it’s made with yogurt and candy without junk and less sugar than normal. 😉 Secrets safe! xo

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups Stonyfield Vanilla Greek Yogurt
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 6 UnReal dark chocolate peanut butter cups (cut into bite-sized pieces)

What to do:

Combine all ingredients, except peanut butter cups, into a stand or hand-held mixer. Mix until sugar is dissolved. Pout into ice cream maker and churn for about 20 minutes. Churn another five minutes. Then, slowly add the bite-sized peanut butter cups. Pour ice cream into a freezer safe container with a lid. Place in the freezer for at least two hours. Scoop and enjoy!
