This post came at the perfect time since, for the first time, we did a proper spring cleaning. I was mentally taking notes as we went about it to share. Honestly, it went so much better than I thought and we now have a cleaner place than before. 🙂
I hope you can take bits and pieces of what worked for us and apply it to your home!
Make a list/prioritize. Before we began cleaning, Eric said he wanted to write down an actual list of what we wanted to accomplish. I laughed because I didn’t see the purpose. Well, I was so wrong. It helped so much! As we were getting tired, we could look at the list and see that we only had already crossed off and exactly what still needed done.
Which leads me to number two. Be realistic. You aren’t going to be able to clean every cobweb from floor to ceiling, purge every closet, and go through every file with precision in one day. Push yourself and focus on the job you are setting out to do. Don’t write 13,935 down that you want to be completed in one day. That’s just not realistic and setting yourself up to be let down.
On Saturday, we did some spring cleaning (which I will talk more about next week)! One of my favorite parts about the cleaning process, (other than everything being extra clean) was that we rearranged our guest room. I love the way it turned out!
I know I’ve talked about how Eric and I love writing notes to each other. It’s become our thing. I thought some new stationary would be the extra nudge I need to write more notes consistently. I also thought this was cute for random notes to yourself.
The sun was shining this week and it was in the 70’s. Amen, amen, amen!
I was on the hunt for a natural toothpaste with less ingredients than most out there. I ended up buying this toothpaste and love it! Apparently you can add two drops of orange vitality and it helps whiten teeth. Who know? Lord knows I could use some whitening after all the coffee I’ve been drinking lately.
This week was a smooth one! God completely blessed me with a great week after a really difficult one last week. To top it off, I have the day off today and we have a wedding tonight for such a sweet couple. 🙂
One.I know I talked about these jeans here but when you are picky about jeans and find a good pair, you spread the word. 🙂
What I’m reminiscing about: The beach trip I surprised Eric with last year around this time. And breakfast in bed. 🙂
What I’m loving:
The people in my life. I’m just really, really thankful.
What we’ve been up to:
We had a storm a few weeks ago, which brought a lot of hail and totaled my car. So, we have been car shopping for an SUV. Any car tips?
What I’m dreading:
The process of buying a new car…
What I’m working on:
Keeping my head on straight. 😉
What I’m excited about:That the countdown to summer is on! 🙂
What I’m watching/reading:Last year I talked about how addicted we got to the Great British Bake Off (GBB). They released two new seasons on Netflix and we became obsessed all over again. We finished both seasons in two weeks. How cute are some of their books?
Eric has been on a breadmaking kick ever since we watched the show and wants to buy this book. I kind of do too!) I also feel like I should buy Mary Berry’s Baking Bible just to have on hand in my kitchen because I adore her.
What I’m listening to:
What I’m wearing:
This cardigan in pink. (Similar here and here). I also bought these Gap jeans and I looooove them! Just not those shoes. 😉 ha
What I’m doing this weekend:
Wedding! By the end of this year, we will have gone to 30 weddings in three years. I would like one big piece of wedding cake to celebrate. 😉
What I’m looking forward to next month:
Easter Break! 🙂
