Friday Favorites

Twenty Eight

Yesterday I turned 29. Eric surprised me and took some of the day off so we could spend it together. It was the best and just what I wanted. 🙂 For my favorites today, I thought it would be fun to look back on some of my very favorite (and very random) 😉 things from 28! Eric surprised me with a beach trip last year for my birthday. It was THE BEST!  I made crustless quiches on repeat…I started my 4th year of teaching with a super sweet class and resigned in August to be at home with Capri. We kept a little secret from everyone for awhile and then shared the exciting news via Christmas cards!I ate avocado toast like it was my job……and could barely drink coffee anymore. Pregnancy does straaaange things. I was gifted these earrings, which I wear all the time. We bought this rug, which I’m obsessed with. (And it’s on serious sale right now!) I really got into listening to podcasts. The day after Christmas we found out we were having a baby GIRL! We lived by this motto as we soaked in every moment. We took some time to get away…I was showered by the most generous friends and family a girl could ask for. We started (and finished) watching Parenthood. And I’m still mourning the fact that it’s over. I tried by hand at a lot of new recipes.I became a Mom. 🙂We went on date nights.I soaked up every snuggle…
…and took in every little feature…..and watched this little one grow with each passing day.We celebrated three years of marriage.
I ushered in fall with open arms..and these muffins.

28 was far too good to me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. God provided beyond belief and I am so thankful for this life. It was definitely one of my favorite years yet. Here’s to 29 and all it has in store!

Also don’t forget to enter this! Only a few days left. 🙂 Happy Friday!

One.

Ladies! The temperatures have been a little cooler. It is fair season. I had the best milkshake and funnel cake last night. (‘Tis the season!) AND it’s Friday! This weekend we have small group, some down time and we’ll be with friends and family. I have never, ever eagerly welcomed fall so much, which counts as a favorite today!

Two.

I asked all of you on Instagram what baby book you love. I went back and forth as to what I wanted to record special moments and memories. I tried an app, and liked it but didn’t love it since I wanted to add my own personal touch. Multiple people mentioned Promptly Journals. I love the look and although I may not fill out every page, I wanted a space to put some of our newborn pictures along with her firsts. I ordered one and LOVE it!

Three.

If you’ve been around for awhile on here, you know I love First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer. I finally became a little more wise and started ordering it on Amazon instead of taking a trip to Sephora just for this one item. (Even though a trip to the mall is needed sometimes). It’s still sold through First Aid Beauty and my skin feels so great!

Four.

I’ve used it before when babysitting but knew we didn’t need it right away when Capri was born. She’s getting to the point though where we wanted her to be able to sit up and have our hands free. It’s been a game changer! Favorite, favorite, favorite! Plus, it will be easy to transport when we travel. I ordered the
Bumbo Multi Seat because it lasts 6-36 months instead of just the seat, which only lasts until 12.

Five.Run to your kitchen and makes these now. They’re to die for and they will brighten your weekend instantly! Happy weekend!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! All this rain and talk of coziness lately has me wanting to curl up in a blanket and watch movies all day! Ha! Anyways, here are my favorites from the week. 🙂

One.On Wednesday I talked about my top five ways I love transitioning from summer to fall. One of my favorite things to help with that are boots. Well, I failed to mention these little gems as well! I did order a half size smaller then I normally do so they wouldn’t flop but they are a perfect in between season shoe. Plus..the price! Free People also sells them, here!

Two.

We definitely have a nice kitchen selection but one thing we have been wanting to upgrade is our everyday pan. So we did…and I can confidently say, we aren’t looking back. 😉 This pan is worth every penny!

Three.

I’ve talked about how much I love Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Perfume, which was proven when I bought this. The bottle is HUGE! The price can’t be beat though!

Four.Did you my recipe for Chocolate Chipotle Sweet Potato Chili? You can use your slow cooker and have dinner ready in no time!

Five.In need of a cozy breakfast or dessert this weekend? Check these out, here!

Have the best weekend!

Friday Favorites

Today’s a little different for my favorites. Gift giving is not high on my love language scale but the idea of paying it forward or random acts of kindness has really been on my heart lately. After having Capri my best friend stopped by with such a meaningful and thoughtful gift. She knows me well and filled it with some of my favorites. It meant so much and I encourage you to think of someone you can do the same for. It doesn’t have to be post-baby, it can be for any occasion or just because. Customize your heart out and have fun with it! Here are some fun ideas to put together.

ONE.

Put everything in one of these bags as part of the gift.

TWO.

Their favorite book or a devotional.

THREE.

A notepad and some fun writing things.

FOUR.

Add a bag of coffee, box of wine, or their favorite snack. A gift card always works too!

FIVE.

Add a hand written note.

Easy.

Done.

Happy Friday! Love you all! 🙂
