Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites

It’s Friday, it’s snowing, and I’m off school. It’s going to be a good day. 🙂

I missed Friday Favorites last week because my best friend and I went on a shopping trip, got home late, and the post just didn’t happen! But we’re back and running today!

One.

After going to IKEA for the first time ever (I KNOW!) we shopped around at a nearby mall. I basically wanted to buy every candle at Anthropologie. This one is such a great smell but I think this one was my favorite!

Two.I have been wanting to try Matcha Tea for awhile now. People seem to love this brand but I’m not sure if I should take the plunge? Has anyone tried this brand or are there other brands that you recommend?
Three.I’ve talked about my love for the Today show a few times. 😉 Well, they just came out with an app and I’m SO excited it’s silly. One of the best part’s of my day off last week before the shopping trip? Waking up just to watch the Today show and sip coffee. 🙂
Four.

Check out my updated shop page, here with some of my favorites and things I’ve had my eye on!

Five.I have been on a Ginger Mule kick all over again. You can find the recipe, here and cheers to Friday! 😉

Friday Favorites

The weather was absolutely gorgeous this week, which automatically puts me in such a good mood. 🙂 It has been in the 70’s and I love it! Is it just in PA or are other places experiencing it being warmer too?! Clearly, I haven’t watched the news lately. 😉

One.

Since it has been so nice out, I’ve been breaking out my two denim shirts to layer. They are an ideal in between for these temperatures. I have one from Garage (similar, here) and one from Target, (similar, here).

I found some other fun ones that I may need to add to my wardrobe since I am going to puuuuuurge my closet like it’s my job very soon!

Two.

Here’s the deal. Over the summer we were doing the Whole 30. I was planning on making a taco salad when I realized I couldn’t break tortilla chips on top since they aren’t Whole 30 compliant. The recipe I was following suggested these plantain chips from Trader Joes. I loved them in the salad and then found myself snacking on them by themselves throughout the week. I love them! I just ordered some more this morning for snacking and for a salad next week. Plus, they really are a lot healthier than tortilla chips so it’s a win all around. 😉

Three. My Sweet and Savory 30 Minute Chili because Thursday was National Chili Day. Who knew? 🙂 You could crumble the plantain chips on top of this too!

Four.

I got a massage on Tuesday and that is beyond a favorite of mine!

Five.

I loved all the comments about Friday Night Lights from my post on Wednesday! Low and behold, my sister-in-law informed me that she loves the show AND has a Tim Riggins shirt! WHAT?! I didn’t even know they made them and now I want one. 🙂 You can buy it, here! It even has his name on the back. 😉

Have the best Friday and an even better weekend!

Friday Favorites

It’s one of those weeks where counting your blessings comes extra easy. They are flowing all around and I’m so grateful.

One.

Eric and I agreed not to do much for Valentine’s Day. But, when I got home on Tuesday I found a bottle of wine, flowers, and a note. One of the notes said to check the freezer which had Talenti was in it.  #win We did nothing fancy and I loved that. As I poured myself a glass of wine, I realize that I always reach for these. They have held up so well, are dishwasher safe, and I love using them.

Two.Remember in November I talked about how much I love this bag from Urban Southern? Well, these beautiful ladies were styled three collections at NYCFW with their bags and launched their new Spring line! It is absolutely beautiful!

Three.

I updated my shop page with some of my favorite glassware for drinks. You can check it out here!

Four.I’m making some of this for the weekend and I think you should too!

Five.Because my Raspberry Brownie Triffles aren’t just for Valentine’s Day. 🙂

Six.

In December when I talked about my Home Tips and Tricks, several of you purchased this ottoman. I don’t blame you, it’s the best! (Sidenote: It’s on sale right now!) I think in most homes, we’re all craving a little more storage that looks nice and can hide the things we need to store. Which brings me to these baskets. I wasn’t crazy about them at first because I don’t like the feeling of them. Weird, I know.

The other week I did some organizing and used these baskets to store our movies in our entertainment center. I looked at them the other day and now I can’t imagine not having them there. They hide the clutter and are sweet, yet simple. Plus, they are inexpensive. If you like the smaller version, you can also buy these khaki or cute floral liners to go along with them!

It’s a win all around, and it’s a Friday, so treat yourself. 😉 Happy Friday!

Friday Favorites + Hot Cocoa Stirers

We have a Valentines Party at school today, some other activities, and then I’m coming home and crashing. I just could not get it together this week. I’m glad it’s Friday. 🙂

One.Him. Not just this week, but I’m feeling extra thankful this week for what we have. You can read more about that, here.

Two.Because who doesn’t love a good pasta dish!?

Three.

Eric and I took a short getaway and it was perfect-o!

Four. They were calling for snow but who knew if it would actually happen. Well, what do you know? We woke up to this. 🙂 It made our time away even more fun and beautiful!

Five. All this snow had me craving these Hot Cocoa Stirers. 🙂

Ingredients:

  • One Dark Chocolate Bar per stirer
  • Milk
  • Whipped cream or other toppings

What to do:

You will need one chocolate bar per stirer. (I used Dove Dark Chocolate Bars). In a small sauce pan, break the chocolate bars into smaller pieces and melt on medium low to low heat. Stir occasionally to avoid burning and until fully melted. Pour or spoon the melted chocolate into a one inch tray. Place in the refrigerator for about 40 minutes or until firm. Stick a popsicle stick into the center of the cube. Return to the refrigerator for an additional 20 minutes or so.

Place stirer into a mug of heated milk and stir until melted. Top with your favorite toppings! xo

Psstt… I used this one inch Silicone cube tray and it worked great! This and this also look like they would work well!

Friday Favorites

January felt like the shortest month ever! It flew by and I can’t believe it is already February 2017!

Nonetheless, as always, I’m sharing some of my favorites of the week. 🙂

One.

Well, I got my hair CHOPPED on Saturday. My hair salon has used Hot Tools products since I can remember and after getting such a new hairstyle I had to buy one for myself! Styling is a whole new game now. Also, this hairspray is heavenly to keep the style in place! 🙂

Two.

You can go here to read my little snippet about this adorable notebook. 🙂

Three. Smoothie bowls have overtaken my breakfasts the last few weeks and I have no shame. I love my Very Berry Smoothie Bowl and this spoon to go with it!

Four.

Whenever I go visit my parents, I get SO excited to spend some time near their fireplace since we don’t have one at our home. They have a standard fireplace in their living room but they have a little one in my Dad’s office that is so cozy and a cross between this and this. I love it!

Five.Sunday is GAME DAY! Be sure to make some of the goodies below!

Spinach Dip and Soda Bread

Game Day Fries and Yogurt Dipping Sauce

Taco Soup

Double Chocolate Peppermint Cookies

Happy (almost) weekend! 🙂
