Smoothie Sailing into 2017

Blueberry Banana Protein SmoothieStrawberry Banana Smoothie-- Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comGreen Smoothie-- Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comThe holidays consisted of so much food. I love this with all of my heart but sometimes, you just need a day or two (or a week) to detox from what your body has gotten used to. A smoothie is an easy way to incorporate fruits and veggies without a lot of prep. I truly feel more energized and fit when I have one of these on days or weeks where I just feel like I haven’t eaten the best. Here’s a jumpstart to the year because you got this. 😉 May you always appreciate the renewal each day brings. May you always remember the sweetness each year holds. May you throw away anything that hinders you and focus on what He has you reaching for.

Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte--Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comHomemade Pumpkin Spice Latte--Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte--Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comEach season brings a new festive drink that everyone seems to be drawn to. I’m completely guilty of loving Pumpkin Spice Lattes but my wallet isn’t a huge fan. Also, my body might go crazy with that much sugar these days. So, I had a genius idea to try my hand at a homemade recipe of my own. A twist, specialized to my taste buds and most likely yours as well. 😉 Sometimes it’s a morning necessity to get me through the day or an evening treat on a chilly night. Either way, it’s a seasonal favorite that can be made right in your home. A huge thank you to Farmer’s Market Foods for giving away four free items to one lucky winner because after all, the organic pumpkin puree is the highlight of this tasty drink! Pumpkin Smoothie

Pumpkin Smoothie--Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comPumpkin Smoothie--Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comIf you didn’t already know, I have a very difficult time saying goodbye to summer. The weather, flavors, and lifestyle are my absolute favorite. If I’m going to give in though and accept that fall is here, it will involve pumpkin and smoothies.

My appreciation for pumpkin was something that didn’t come naturally or quickly. But when it happened, it came in full force. My love for smoothies has always been strong but increased over the years. Therefore, when the first chill in the air starts to make itself known, I combine these two babes together for the best of both worlds.

I start all things pumpkin early and incorporate it into as many foods as I can. What better way to make the transition from summer to fall than with something cool and refreshing, yet introduces a fall party in one drink? It’s been on repeat in our home and it should be in yours also. 🙂Pumpkin Smoothie--Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com Pumpkin Smoothie--Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com Pumpkin Smoothie--Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com

They are possibly one of my favorite fruits and I love to find a variety of ways to use them in recipes. Perk to this smoothie: The protein powder already contains chia and probiotics, which grants you a little extra boost at any time of the day! I’m no Olympian, but as far as I’m concerned, this is a ten out of ten as recipes goes! 😉 Drink up!Blueberry Banana Protein Smoothie Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comBlueberry Banana Protein Smoothie Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com

Friday Favorites + Ginger Mule

It’s Friday! Although my weeks are a much, much slower pace than the school year, there is still something about the weekend and I love it! As always, I’m linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea to share my favorites things from this week!

We got these {rooster, pig} hand towels as a wedding gift. They have grown to become two of my favorite hand towels. They are super soft and absorbent. I love having them displayed. 🙂

Two.Our one anniversary is this Sunday. Ah! I love him ten times more now than I did a year ago. 🙂

{Check out this drink. I’m kind of, sort of, obsessed with it.}

Ginger Mule Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comGinger Mule Recipe at: stephanie-spring.comI was convinced I didn’t like gin. I told Eric he could make his own concoctions and I’d settle on wine. I was so wrong. All it took was one sip of his drink because I wanted to venture out for 0.2024 seconds, and I found myself stealing two, then three sips. He finally looked at me and smiled as he got up to make me one. A ginger mule….what?! It’s the cousin of a Moscow mule; Similar, yet different and ever so tasty and refreshing. See for yourself!Ginger Mule Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com Ginger Mule Recipe at: stephanie-spring.com

    • 2 oz. Gin
    • Ginger Beer
    • 10 Mint Leaves (plus an extra sprig for garnish)
    • 1 oz. Lime Juice

Check out all these fun cocktail shakers and mugs to put them in. You can use any glass or mug but these would make it extra fun for a party or just to have on hand. 🙂

I always get excited about a giveaway and next week is no different! Be sure to check back and see what’s in store! 😉 It’s great for you, smells amazing, and has endless possibilities! Any guesses as to what you think it might be?!

Yesterday I took a run outside and used an arm band to hold my phone and play music. I haven’t used it in almost a year because I like running inside on the treadmill and set my phone there. But for running outside, this was definitely a game changer and allowed me to focus on running, rather than making sure I don’t drop my phone. I got mine a few years ago but here are some similar ones that I love!

*Pssstt! You know how I talked about this tunic last week? It’s on sale and I’ve worn it twice this week because I love it so much. Shh! Don’t judge.* 😉

Happy Friday beauties!
